Dr Karen Hedberg is a well known and highly respected dog-loving veterinarian who practises in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, Australia.
A graduate of Sydney University where she received a BVSc in the late 1970's, her life is heavily biased towards both professionally and privately.
As well as attending to a thriving veterinary clinic, Dr Karen Hedberg breeds prize-winning German Shepherds, writes about dogs for several journals, is a regular broadcaster and has made a number of very well received television appearances.
"The New Dog Owners Manual" is the latest edition of her acclaimed book. She says writing it was an act of necessity, because she could never find a truly comprehensive book about all aspects of canine care to recommend to the owners of her patients.
Dr Karen Hedberg has kindly allowed for me to publish certain topics, which I thought would be informative to the new dog owner from her book "The New Dog Owner's Manual"
